Civic Vision for the Central Delaware Receives 2008 CNU Charter Award

The Civic Vision for the Central Delaware project has received the 2008 Charter Award from the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU), a non-profit organization dedicated to "walkable, neighborhood-based development as an alternative to sprawl."1 The award honors projects that exemplify the tenets outlined in the Charter of the New Urbanism.

The Civic Vision for the Central Delaware involves reimagining the Philadelphia riverfront as it relates to Center City and the other neighborhoods near the seven-mile area. In 2007, the project was given the Urban Design Award by the Urban Design Committee of AIA Philadelphia.
