ENR Names WRT 4th in Green Residential Projects

August 17, 2009

In its July 6, 2009 issue, the weekly construction industry magazine Engineering News-Record listed WRT as one of the top 100 green design firms in the nation. In addition, the magazine ranked WRT as 4th in green multi-unit residential projects based on revenue.

"This is an endorsement of the strategic direction we took in 1989 to focus our multi-discipline approach on the special housing needed to support urban revitalization, campus life, and America's aging population," said WRT Principal Gilbert Rosenthal.

WRT is committed to designing housing that reflects our commitment to sustainability, integration of the built and natural environments, and stewardship of resources. We currently have over 2,400 units of green housing in various stages of design and construction. Of these, approximately 1,800 units have already achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating status or are pursuing a rating. The US Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED rating system provides a benchmarking system for green design, which enables environmentally sustainable construction.
