Antonio Fiol-Silva, FAIA was recently appointed to the National Advisory Board for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Daniel Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use. The center's primary focus is to help empower leaders in the public sector to envision, build and sustain successful 21st century communities by providing access to information, best practices, peer networks and other resources to foster creative, efficient and sustainable land use practices.

The Daniel Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use, established in 2008, offers a variety of programs including the Daniel Rose Fellowship program, sustainable development workshops aimed at public officials, as well as public-private forums on current land use issues. The fellowship program works to bring together high-level agency officials from select cities across the country with top experts and leaders in the development industry in order to learn about real estate development, finance, land use concepts and best practices as it relates to their specific municipalities. Through this process, and drawing upon the expertise of industry experts, city leaders are able to solve real-world problems facing their respective communities.

Fiol-Silva, along with the other seven new ULI Rose Center advisory board members, joins existing board members Alexander Garvin, president and chief executive officer, AGA Public Realm Strategists, New York City; former Orlando, Fla. Mayor Glenda Hood, president, Hood Partners, LLC, Orlando; former Indianapolis Mayor William Hudnut, managing partner, Bill Hudnut Consultants, LLC, Chevy Chase, Md.; ULI Trustee Greg Johnson, president, Wright Runstad and Company, Seattle; former Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy, ULI Senior Resident Fellow for Urban Development; and ULI Chief Executive Officer Patrick Phillips (ex-officio member).
