The Housing Authority of the City of Camden held an official grand opening of the Roosevelt Manor community center in July. Roosevelt Manor is the result of several years of work in Camden's Centerville neighborhood. The development features a mix of one, two, three, and four bedroom townhouse and twin-style rental units, creating 230 new family residences. The development's community center, which incorporates solar power, was formally named the "Odessa Paulk-Jones Community Center" after a former resident that was instrumental in planting the seeds for redevelopment in the Centerville community.
WRT continues to plan Roosevelt Manor's "sister development," known as Branch Village. This portion of the project will include the redevelopment of a large park as well as a retail marketplace designed to support small enterprises. A HOPE VI application is being prepared for the fall of this year.
