Sacramento 2030 Plan Given APA Section's Honor Award
The Sacramento Valley Section of the American Planning Association (APA) gave an Honor Award to the City of Sacramento 2030 General Plan. The award was in the category of Comprehensive Planning, Large Jurisdiction. WRT served as the urban design consultant for the plan. The firm also played a major role in developing a new approach to California general plans that uses the concepts of community character and place types - rather than the typical land use categories - to talk about desired future direction, and makes explicit the relationship that urban form and character have on the city's smart growth and sustainability goals.
