WRT was selected as part of a team to prepare a Long Range Transportation Plan for the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in the region centered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. WRT will take the lead in community visioning and assist in the development of land use/regional growth scenarios to be linked to transportation scenarios, which will be led by prime consultant LSA, Inc. The team, along with WRT, will be taking an innovative approach to the project, emphasizing the engagement of the community in creative visioning exercises, including interactive land use and transportation scenario-building games. WRT will leverage our post-Katrina experience throughout Louisiana and Mississippi as we focus the regional plan on a sustainable recovery from their devastating 500-year flood last year.
