Life in cities is a mosaic of moments—moments recorded in a ceaseless symphony of sights, scents, sounds, tastes, and textures. The smell of a city street after a summer rain, secret shortcut alleyways, one-of-a-kind vistas, the sound of tires on cobblestone—for those who live and work in cities, these are moments turned into indelible, easily conjured memories.

“To photograph truthfully and effectively is to see beneath the surfaces and record the qualities of nature and humanity which live or are latent in all things.” – Ansel Adams

We’ve gathered photographs from staff, and each picture is a story unto itself, filled with wonder, sometimes humor, and oftentimes just plain bizarreness. Some were taken while “on the job,” like half of a twin house in Trenton, NJ and the “classy and refined burlesque” matinee advertised just above the Islamic Foundation sign in Paterson, NJ. (By the way, we helped both places win over $40 million in neighborhood revitalization grants.) Others are just goofy vacation photos.

So, here’s to our love of cities and many more interesting city snapshots!
