Boyce Mayview Park

WRT conducted several projects for this 475-acre site in western Pennsylvania. Our park master plan balanced preservation of the natural landscape with provisions for active and passive recreation. A mile-long sloping "arc walk" provides access to major site features, such as a public lawn, a community garden, and a recreation and community center, for which WRT prepared facility programs and plans. The master plan encourages sustainable design for all facilities and landscape. Green principles include minimized site disturbance, optimum solar exposure, vegetated roofs, geothermal and solar pool water thermal conditioning, and bio-treatment of stormwater. WRT also developed a Habitat Management Plan to support the range of habitats and native species that make the park a unique regional resource.
