Burnham Brook Center

Burnham Brook Center is a 50,000-SF senior activities center, one of the largest in the nation.The building includes a 200-person dining room, a 150-seat theater, a swimming pool with special “aqua-cise" equipment, multipurpose rooms, a wellness center, offices, and administrative space. A library is located on the second floor, from which readers can view a formal courtyard. The project's landscape, also designed by WRT, was envisioned as a series of outdoor spaces, extensions of the "village of buildings" approach to the architecture. Passive strolling gardens and trees were planted to reflect solar orientation, and a sun terrace was installed for outdoor dinning and gathering space.
