Castro Valley Redevelopment Strategic Plan

This strategic redevelopment plan aims to revitalize Castro Valley's central business district,an area compromised by regional population growth and its location adjacent to a state highway. The plan identifies key strategic infill opportunities to serve as catalysts for future investment, and proposes priorities for accompanying improvements to the public realm in a schematic streetscape plan. A key design issue was how to transform Castro Valley Boulevard,a former State highway,into a safe and attractive main street, while still accommodating high traffic volume.
