Eastshore State Park General Plan

Eastshore State Park extends along 8.5 miles of San Francisco Bay from the Bay Bridge in Oakland to Marina Bay in Richmond and lies within the jurisdiction of five incorporated cities. Encompassing 1,800 acres of water and upland, the park includes some of the most sensitive salt marsh in the Bay Area and offers visitors dramatic vistas of the Bay and the city skyline. Working with the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, the East Bay Regional Park District, and the California Coastal Conservancy, WRT prepared the General Plan and EIR. The planning process incorporated extensive citizen and local government participation to reach consensus among the diverse interests. The plan creates "a recreation facility harmonious with its natural setting" as mandated in the parks enabling legislation.
