Gaines Street Revitalization Plan

This master plan focused on the redevelopment of a substantially underutilized section of the city's downtown. The planning area encompasses the downtown's CIV center, the historic All Saints and Stearns-Mosley neighborhoods, and a large section of obsolete commercial and industrial uses that lie between the campuses of Florida State University and Florida A&M University. This area will be transformed into a lively “University Village," an urban environment with several thousand new student and young professional residents, as well as entertainment and specialty retail elements. The project included extensive public input and policy guidance by a steering committee.
