Holly Park / Othello Station

This HOPE VI project replaces 1940s public housing with a new, denser neighborhood consisting of a mix of uses for residents of diverse incomes. WRTs master plan was a key factor in the grant award of $49 million, which in turn has leveraged additional investment. The plan extends the existing street grid into the 36-acre site and organizes development around a spine of public parks, which provides a pedestrian connection among residences, neighborhood shopping, and transit. WRT|Solomon E.T.C., designed some of the mixed-use buildings and 219 new housing units which vary in type and density, from row houses on the interior of the site to apartments over retail along the perimeter streets.
