Market Street and Frankford Avenue Corridors TOD Plans
These land use plans and redevelopment guidelines were developed for two distinctive Philadelphia neighborhood corridors adjacent to,and connected by,the Market-Frankford Corridor elevated rail line, with an emphasis on transit-oriented development. WRT developed a best practices manual for use throughout the corridor and applied it to the two neighborhoods. Land use and urban design plans were also prepared by the firm for high opportunity target sites. The idea was to create conditions for strategic public and private investments for redevelopment that were tied to improved El service as well as physical conditions of the structure and stations. WRT worked closely with both communities through regular advisory committee meetings, stakeholder surveys, and public meetings to achieve agreement for proposed actions.
