New River Gorge National River General Management Plan
WRT's general management plan for New River Gorge National River guides the future of the largest resource-based park in the National Park Service's Northeast Region. This park encompasses 50 river miles and the adjoining 75,000-acre river corridor. Major issues included balancing the protection of natural and cultural resources with demands for recreational use in the park, particularly for whitewater rafting,as well as the National Park Service's relationship to its gateway community partners.
