Scripps Institution of Oceanography; University of California
WRT's master plan and design guidelines are shaping the future of the central 20-acre portion of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the oldest and largest oceanographic laboratory in the United States. A key landscape feature of the campus is the WRT-designed "Pawka Green," a central gathering area framed by new and historic buildings, with dramatic views to the Pacific. Envisioned in the plan as an outdoor commons, Pawka Green serves the entire institution, allowing for large and small gatherings associated with the adjacent research, administrative, and other facilities.
