Susquehanna Commerce Center

WRT prepared the master plan for,and is the architect and landscape architect of,the Susquehanna Commerce Center, an urban business commercial development in downtown York. Its 8.5-acre brownfield location is the first urban site designated by Pennsylvania as a Keystone Opportunity Zone. This designation is part of an innovative demonstration program for the state's progressive land use policies. The plan called for the reuse of a complex of historic industrial structures, as well as for the construction of two new six-story office buildings incorporating ground-level retail and totaling approximately 236,695 GSF. The $34 million project integrated creative green design approaches for site and building designs, and has been hailed for its sensitivity towards the surrounding urban context.
