Alapocas Run State Park encompasses an oasis of 300 acres of rolling farm and forested land within the developed I-95 corridor north of Wilmington, Delaware. Conceived and designed as an amenity to attract investment, the park preserves significant natural and cultural resources as well as provides recreation for both local residents and employees working in adjoining business parks. Designed by WRT, the park includes playing fields, a championship level golf course, and a trail system. Stormwater management features mitigate regional flooding problems by handling both on-site drainage needs and runoff from upstream developed areas. New park roads provide access to the park as well as connect major collector roads on adjoining lands.
