Set in a pastoral landscape just outside of Washington, DC's urban core, WRT assisted Clark Realty Capital in preparing a detailed design proposal for the redevelopment of 80 acres that is part of the Armed Forces Retirement Home. A total of 4.5-million SF of occupied space has been proposed, consisting of residential, medical research, office and clinical space, corporate offices, retail shops and restaurants (including a food market), two hotels, and a conference center. The plan employs sustainable design as a first principle, and incorporates the goal of LEED ND for the entire development, and a minimum LEED Silver rating for all buildings.
