WRT prepared a specific plan and design guidelines to guide both city investment and private development in the City of Lafayette's 294-acre downtown redevelopment area. Objectives included improving multimodal circulation, enhancing the pedestrian environment, promoting mixed-use development to support increased retail and housing options, enhancing public open space and access to creeks, and reinforcing Lafayette's unique character. The plan includes a sustainability strategy designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with California state legislation.
