Innovation Park, a 118-acre research park adjacent to Penn State University's University Park campus, was designated for business development in 1993 to include a range of businesses from incubator start-ups to mature corporations. WRT led a consultant team in preparing the master plan update for the long-term physical development of the research park. With 65% of the site already developed, WRT helped establish maximum building capacities of the site and provided direction for future development, including building locations, square footages, heights, etc. Design challenges included site typography, stormwater management, highway visibility, bicycle circulation, and environmentally sensitive resource protection.
