Widener University New Residence Hall

Through a limited design competition, Widener University selected the WRT/CuetoKearney design for its new, 300-bed residence hall. Focusing on an economical scheme that builds flexibility for different mixes of residential unit types and a solid understanding of site constraints and opportunities, the design works on a number of levels. The layout of the floors and proposed structural system will allow reconfiguring of the room sizes and types, and will enable the project to meet an ambitious fast-track schedule. Attention to site work and stormwater issues, along with careful selection of building systems and interior materials, provides the University with a green building that can easily and economically become LEED certified.
